Second day at work. This time I forgo the crutches and hobble around, ignoring the pain from the occassional misstep. I'm slowly getting more stuff done today, although I'm still a bit clueless about why the design is like this and wondering what the heck I was thinking of at the time. It's like I'm going through the same arguments and analysis again to make sure this is how the design is supposed to work.

We got new drinks a couple of months ago. It used to be just various Coke products, or bottled orange juice and apple juice. Kind of boring. Then we sold a bunch of software to Pepsi so now we have Pepsi products. The orange juice and apple juice are now canned, since the bottles were having a nasty problem of breaking at the neck. We also added some new drinks which were determined through an on-line poll. Orange-strawberry- banana juice beverage, apple-cranberry, and a couple of other Tropicana products. Much more interesting selection now.

I bought The Marathon Trilogy and Myth: The Total Codex from the Bungie store last month, they arrived while I was at home. Sure, I already have Marathon 1 and 2, but I don't have Infinity and the Trilogy also comes with a bunch of maps that fans have designed. Sure, I can probably get the maps off the various websites, but having them on a CD is nice. It also come with Pathways into Darkness, which I already had. So mostly I bought the Trilogy for Infinity and the additional maps. It is a fun game though.

The Myth package has Myth 1 and 2 as well as another scenario set for Myth 2. And a Myth music CD. Plus a couple of strategy guides on the CD. I already have Myth 1, but this package is cheaper so I decided "what the hey?". I'm not as big a fan of Myth as Marathon; this was more of an impulse buy, something I really need to have more self-discipline about.

This is the time of year when I buy several games to give my brother a choice of Christmas presents. That way I get to play the other ones. We trade back and forth a bit so it's not that bad in any case, but his computer is kind of old and poky and I don't think it'll handle some of the cool stuff, at least not at the best resolution.

I don't get presents for my parents. Don't know why. They also stopped getting presents for my sister and I. For my sister, I don't know what to get. I know some of her tastes, but not the specifics. She likes romance novels, and had me buy her a book by Nora-something. She also likes 80's music and some of the current alt-stuff. But for both of these I don't know what she has and what she doesn't have. I'm waiting for my mind to get a bolt of inspiration that tells me what to get her.

Personally, I'm not into getting presents. If I want something I'll buy it. So if I don't have it it's either relatively expensive or I don't really want it, or I haven't thought of it. There are limits to what I buy, as you can only assimilate so much loot at one time. Still, most presents are nice but not especially wanted -- of course my philosophy changes day to day.
