I guess I'll describe what happened in the GURPS campaign last Saturday, so that Dave can write it up [NOT COPY] into his little campaign journal, if he wants. If not this is another journal entry done. I was running the last part of Dave's adventure, wherein the characters are in 1930's Central America, looking for Lord Benjamin Pimsley, wanted by the British government for various crimes.

Let's start by describing the characters. First up is Jason "Jay" Mendoza, some sort of motorcycle racer; Rick Jones is a marine biologist or somesuch thing; Jake Talloway is a sleazy lawyer; Amber is a high school cheerleader; the Black Scorpion is a failed wrestler; Ginger is an exotic dancer; Cpl "Doc" LaCroix is a Marine medic; John Novak was a grad student.

They were all, for one reason or another, at the mall, spending another day of their somewhat boring and monotonous life at the one beacon of glory that 20th Century Man has established. One by one the little lambs were gathered together to participate in a "focus group", clueless as to the real secret behind the sinister facade of Other Worlds Travel (a division of Microsquelch).

After determining that these candidates were suitable for their purposes, OWT sent them off into the future, to battle an underwater horror so vast that it was only by the GM's whim that any of them made it out alive. And so our brave group is doomed, forever to travel from time to time, righting what went wrong, bringing justice to the downtrodden, always hoping that the next jump will be the jump home.

Back to the 1930's. The group chased the banditos, led by Lord Pimsley, into the jungles and to their camp. A surprise attack netted Lord Pimsley himself, or so our intrepid heroes thought. They had also rescued Maria, a local village girl who had been taken by the bandits. OWT had warned the group that two enemy agents were operating in this timepoint, and they naturally suspected Maria since she was one of only a handful of NPCs the group had met.

Jake wrote up a contract for "Lord Pimsley" wherein he promised never to assassinate Adolph Hitler. And why would he? Old Adolf was the best thing to happen for the Fascist Party in England and Germany. With that done, and their suspicions growing by leaps and bounds, they decided to take Maria and Father Cuervo back to the town to double check their ids.

But first they had to stop at Maria's village for petrol. Once there they were greeted by an empty town, all the buildings with open doors except for the mission. Rick, Amber, and Scorpion went to check out the mission while Jay covered them. As the trio crossed the halfway point, the real Lord Pimsley stepped out of the mission, while six time agents appeared at the mission windows and to either side of the street on the roofs.

In a short speech, Lord Pimsley mentioned that the group was meddling in something that they could not hope to understand. And that's when Jay fired the Light Machine Gun, grievously wounding Pimsley. The fight was on and Rick, Amber and the Scorpion were caught in the middle. John was quickly mortally wounded while Ginger and Jake poured in what cover fire they could.

In the end the battle was won not so much by skill as by luck. Everyone but Jake was shot at least once, although only the grad student bought the farm for the PC's side. Several enemy agents were killed, the rest were unconscious. Enemy technicians came and took away the agents, leaving Lord Pimsley behind to his fate.

After collecting the reward for Pimsley, the characters were transported to their next adventure.
