Things are looking up as the Kings won game 4 to even the series. After two disappointing losses (game 2 where they were up by 10+ with about 4 minutes left and game 3 where they made up a 10+ point deficit in the final 3-4 minutes) it's still anybody's series. Deep down inside I still think the Kings are going to lose but when the Timberwolves play badly like they did in game 4, then anything is possible. Strangely, all four conference-semifinal serii are tied 2-2.

So I watched yesterday's game at my sister's place. Finally got her VCR hooked up. So now the DVD player is using the component video input (a red-blue-green pronged cable) which I guess will be a better picture than using composite video. We had Boston Market food and it was actually pretty good. I've had BM before and it didn't impress me but this time the meat was soft and juicy, the corn tasted great, even the mashed potatos and gravy were good. Hmm, I'll have to reasses my opinion of BM, or not.

My Belkin wireless router is acting weird. It has two IP addresses and refuses to forward one of the IP addresses to my web server. Tried to reset it to factory defaults and reenter the settings but it still doesn't work. The other IP addresses forwards correctly, but I'd rather not have to update my DNS entries. So I'm thinking of not using it as an NAT router and back to just being a wireless access point. It'll mean I won't have to go rehooking things around to play Diablo or VPN into work. But it means I'll get a lot more port scanning and such on my personal machine.
We're skipping basketball today. I think it's because Eric is really beat up. Tuesday he could barely move, his lower legs were killing him. He pushed it too hard on his first day and since. I think he just needs a week to rest and allow his legs to heal. I went through much the same thing and now I'm both more used to it and I pace myself better.

Since we're not playing basketball I should go to the ebMUG meeting but I don't feel like it. I do like attending and all but the drive is brutal and I get back home late. It's just not quite in the worth it to go side of the ledger.

So the guys are going out to eat after Sweet gets out of work. I'm tempted to go but it's way late and I need to get up early tomorrow to carpool. Oh, for the days when I was young and could do these kinds of things. But I'm an old man.

Meanwhile vol 3 of my DC Heroes campaign is coming along very slowly. Still have my basic concept for the first adventure. I've written up Riff and one of the villains. I'm kind of stuff with the other three villains until the players have their heroes better defined since the villains are customized to the heroes.

The Blood of Heroes rulebook has a pretty good campaign background. Sure, everybody is at least 1000 Hero Points and usually more like 2 or 3 thousand. But the characters are obviously from a well developed long running campaign. The powers and attributes make sense and look like real-use writeups. A lot of care went into writing up all those characters.
