The day after Thanksgiving there are a lot of sales. Ming spent the night and she and mom left early to go shopping. Dad left later. Then I got back to sleep for another couple of hours and woke up about 20:00 or so. Last year Stephanie went shopping but it was such a mess that she decided not to do it this year.

For lunch we had turkey chok (rice soup). Very good. I used to not like chok because rice in soup is just unnatural. This is what happens when you get a certain food prepared a certain way for years and years. When it's prepared a bit differently it just feels wrong. It took me more years to finally like the soup.

Stephanie wants to buy dad a big screen television. He does probably need a new television, definitely to replace the one in his bedroom though the one downstairs is good. She wants to buy him something with HDTV. Mostly we feel for dad since mom took all the old house money and kept "for investing" leaving dad to pay for the new house pretty much by himself. It's not really fair.

Once he has a nice television then they need cable or satellite for the better reception and more channels. Right now they get all the Sacramento channels but not well. With cable television they might also get cable internet. It's really annoying that you need a separate Comcast decoder because they just suck.
We went out to Target to get some stuff for Stephanie. Then we went to a used book store nearby, Almost Perfect Used Books. It's a small used book store, narrow and long. Shelves and shelves of paperback books all laid sideways for that little bit of extra space. Kind of cramped. Three people working today which seemed a bit overkill.

I found two Star Trek novels that I didn't have. Both kind of beat up with the front covers badly curled. And a bit more expensive than Half Price Books. But it's two more books that I don't have and it is cheaper than buying them new and it doesn't matter if they're beat up as long as you can read the books. That book store sure had a lot of romance novels.

Tonight we had braised chicken and some sort of oven baked fish for dinner. The fish didn't turn out great. A bit flavorless in my opinion though everyone else said it was a bit though for being frozen. The braised chicken was very good though. I still ate most of the fish because it was good.

I gave Christopher his Gamboy Advanced back and he's been playing Zelda 2: Adventures of Link pretty much all day yesterday and today. This is a game he already finished when he had a Nintendo. It's just some sort of nostalgic trip for him. And this is why you don't pirate old software because it could be rereleased which is getting more and more common.
