It kinda got lost in the shuffle. It's a little out of date, but maybe somebody will still get a kick out of it. * * * NEW CIRRA ROCKED BY PET STORE SCANDAL Just days after its grand opening, the New Cirra Cute Cuddly Critter Store has become embroiled in controversy. Reliable sources claim that missing griffins from the New Cirra Zoo have been turning up for sale at the store. The New Cirra Police are investigating the allegations but refuse to comment until their investigation is complete. However, anonymous sources within the police department have leaked several details regarding the case. On the day of its grand opening, a fire broke out in the Critter Store, killing all of the animals on the premises. Shortly after the deadly fire, griffins began disappearing from the New Cirra Zoo. Police believe these griffins were stolen to replace the store's lost inventory. Coincidentally, the Goddess toured the Critter Store just before the fire broke out. Fortunately, she was not harmed in the incident. Heresy, the owner of the Critter Store, is currently suspected of masterminding the griffin thefts. Police confiscated two griffins from the store when Heresy failed to produce receipts for them. On the advice of legal counsel, Heresy has gone into seclusion and could not be reached for comment, but his lawyer did suggest that Autolycus, the King of Thieves, might be a more logical suspect. Heresy's assistant, Iggy, is also suspected as an accomplice in the thefts. Iggy, a deformed creature with sewn together body parts, was questioned but provided no intelligible answers. The Goddess has expressed concern about the griffin thefts and has vowed to punish those responsible to the fullest extent of the law. Zoo officials warn that wild griffins are very dangerous and do not make good pets. Anyone who recently purchased a griffin is encouraged to contact the New Cirra Zoo so that zoo officials may examine the creature and determine if it belongs to the zoo. * * * Jason Blevins jasonjwb@ix.netcom.com http://pw2.netcom.com/~jasonjwb ============================================================================== Web site copyright (c) 2001 Kevin C.
