Pictures from my fishing trip to Union Creek, Oregon. I
spent September
3-6 of 1999 here with Dave, his wife Julie, and her parents, Fred and
Carolyn.
Union Creek is a small location about 60 miles east of Medford on
highway 62.

This
is a picture of the Rogue River a little upstream from Julie's
Spot. It's glacier fed so the water is quite cold. The water at this
part
flows at about 3-5 mph and the river is knee to waist deep. [Full]
Julie's
Spot, on the near side of the shore. On the other shore is
another good spot to fish, but only Dave will brave the river to reach
it. [Full]

The
Crater Lake area is covered in ash from the
volcanic eruption that
created Crater Lake. Here you can see the ash in the white of the cliff
face. [Full]
My
fishing pole, which I borrowed from Julie's Dad. It's the fishing
pole her grandfather used. Caught one trout with it. [Full]
A
lone ant dragging away a salmon egg. We used salmon eggs and worms
as bait. Dave just uses salmon eggs. Worms are slimy and still alive,
which
is disconcerting when you put them on a hook. [Full]
