Another old John Hughes film, Weird Science doesn't quite deliver for me. Gary (Anthony Michael Hall) and Wyatt (Ilan Mitchell-Smith) are geeky high school teens who dream of having a real social life. One night while watching a Frankenstein movie Gary decides to make the perfect babe. They use Wyatt's home computer, tap into some Pentagon mainframe and use its processing power plus some weird atmospheric effects and a Barbie doll to create Lisa (Kelly LeBrock).

Lisa immediately sets out to change the two 15-year olds and make them into popular kids. She takes them out to a night club, then shopping at the mall, and finally throws a giant party, inviting all the school kids. Eventually the two young men gain and win the attention of their objects of affection, Deb (Suzanne Snyder) and Hilly (Judie Aronson).

In general I thought the movie lacked something. Some of the jokes were ok and others were rather embarrasing. Maybe it's because the movie is aimed at a younger audience than my current age. The DVD has no extra features and if the movie has been digitally remastered it's hard to tell since the quality is not great. Overall a lukewarm recommendation.
