Teaser

Malcom (Martin Lawrence) and John (Paul Giamatti) are FBI agents, Malcom being the master of disguise and John the surveillance expert. Lester (Terrence Dashon Howard) just escaped from prison and is looking to hook up with his old girl friend Sherry (Nia Long). Sherry has disappeared with her son Trent (Jascha Washington). Malcom and John are assigned to surveillance over Sherry's only relative, Big Momma (Ella Mitchell). The fun starts when Big Momma leaves for a week and Malcom has to impersonate her to lure Sherry out of hiding.

Movie

Big Momma's House is a comedy movie starring Martin Lawrence. This is all about getting Lawrence to impersonate a Georgian grandmother with all the hilarity that entails. The movie has lots of physical comedy with an underlying romantic element.

DVD

"Building Big Momma's House": a 22-minute behind-the-scenes featurette. "Make Up Test": a 2-1/2 minutes camera test of Lawrence playing Big Momma. "Deleted Scenes": two deleted scenes (an alternate animated opening and a prison seqeuence) with commentary. "Outtakes/Blooper Reel": 6-1/2 minutes. Two music videos. Commentary track with director Raja Gosnel and producer David Friendly.

None of the extras are all that impressive. The commentary is kind of boring, mostly because the commentators drone on and aren't very enthusiastic.

Recommendations

This is a nice comedy though not extra-special in my book. Still, I think most people will like this movie.
