Teaser

The continuing adventures of Dante Hicks (voice of Brian O'Halloran) and Randal Graves (voice of Jeff Anderson), the clerks of the local Quick Stop and RTS Video stores, as they deal with unruly customers, their own glorious plans, and the machinations of Leonardo Leonardo (voice of Alec Baldwin). Featuring the heterosexual couple Jay (voice of Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (voice of Kevin Smith), the series of six episodes (only two of which aired on the ABC network) features a sanitized version of the world while retaining the witty dialogue that marks Kevin Smith's writing.

Comments

The art is good and the execution is well done. Personally, toning it down for television didn't make it worse, though I'm also not impressed with the Clerks movie. When you get down to it, it's fairly standard prime time cartoon fare: a few normal and zany characters getting into some weird and presumably funny situations and adventures.

DVD

This is a two DVD set, each with three episodes. The commentary is once again stellar and much better than the actual shows. There are also featurettes on "The Clerks Style" (the art) and character development.

Recommendations

For Kevin Smith afficionados this is a must have item. For the non-fanatics, the Clerks tv show is not the same as the Clerks movie and therefore you may not like it. People who love to listen to commentaries will love the one included here. For the general audience, the DVD set is probably not worth buying.
