Angel Eyes is a dramatic romance about two messed up people who are fated to meet. It stars Jennifer Lopez as Chicago police officer Sharon Pogue who is saved by a wandering bystander, Catch played by James Caviezel. Catch is a simple guy with no past that he cares to think about.

Sharon is drawn to Catch and his unpretentiousness. But the closer she tries to get to him the more evasive he is. Finally she finds out his real name and then uses the police resources to find out the tragedy that Catch is hiding from. A tragedy that she happened to witness as one of the officers on the scene.

I thought the movie was ok. The performances were good. It's just the story wasn't satisfying. We have Sharon and the problems with her family. We have Catch and his tragedy. By the end of the movie there is some amount of reconciliation on Sharon's subplot and some amount of closure in Catch's subplot and they both drive off into the sunset.

But it's not a "we're in love" driving off into the sunset. It's a "let's start over and see what happens" ending. It wasn't definite enough to be a conclusive ending. That's pretty much my biggest disappointment with the movie.
Extras

There is a commentary track by director Luis Mandoki. About an average commentary and he had some good anecdotes. There is nothing else significant on the DVD.
