Pixar makes damn fine stories. More than even the animation, it's the story that makes an entertaining movie (well I suppose action movies and porn don't need good stories :-). Finding Nemo is the story of a single overprotective father and a young son with a disability. When the son is kidnapped the father goes on a journey to find the son and learns something about himself and so does the son in the meantime.

We have the voices of Albert Brooks (as the father, Marlin), Ellen DeGeneres (as Dory, the fish with bad short-term memory), Alexander Gould (as the son, Nemo) in the primary roles. Like any major animated motion picture, there are lots of guest voices of recognizable actors. Willen Dafoe, Brad Garrett (from "Everybody Loves Raymond"), Allison Janney (from "The West Wing"), Stephen Root and Vicki Lewis (from "News Radio") and others.

This being a Pixar movie the animation is also amazing. There are times when it looks photo-realistic and it's interesting that they have to tone it down to make it look a little more artificial. Especially the underwater environment of the coral reefs, it's a treat watching the play of light and water over the multi-colored inhabitants.

The DVD set has the movie in wide screen and full screen formats. The full screen format actually has more information than the wide screen, as they made the full screen by adding more to the top and bottom rather than cutting off the sides. The DVD menus of the two DVDs have distinctly different flavors which goes to show how much care Pixar puts into making a good product. Overall it's a great package.
