Lucky 7 is a
charming romantic made for television movie. It starts Kimberly
Williams-Paisley as Amy, a young hardworking lawyer trying to get to
that seventh relationship and true love. This is all because when she
was young her mom (perhaps as a sort of amusement) laid out her life on
a timeline. And then that night mom died from a long illness. Ever
since Amy has been living that timeline.
Amy meets the perfect man as number six: Daniel (Brad Rowe, who is
quite the photogenic Brad Pitt-looking man). He's also a lawyer and
charming and very taken with Amy. Her friends approve and her dad
approves but he's still number six. Well actually not quite since he
hasn't introduced Amy as his girlfriend yet.
Amy is aghast. But she comes up with a solution. The local bagel store
manager, Peter (Patrick Dempsey), who is obviously attracted to Amy,
asked her to accompany him to the wedding of his best friend. All
platonic of course. Amy seizes on this opportunity to have Peter number
six so that Daniel can be number seven.
Of course it gets complicated when the wedding weekend turns into this
romantic affair. Amy finds out more about Peter, who she had been
ignoring until now. And she feels a real attratction to the guy. But
can Amy dump Peter for her number seven or will she stay on the path
that her mother wrote out for her?

When I think
about it the movie is a bit predictable and formulaic. But when I was
watching the movie was quite engrossing. Kimberly Williams-Paisley is
charming and the character is cute with some hangups. Patrick Dempsey
has always been a heartthrob and Brad Rowe has a character that
competes with Dempsey's. It was a good movie.
Extras
There is a 7-minute behind the scenes featurette.
