Teaser

Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) is a small town girl from Malibu (or some other rich suburb of Los Angeles). She's like, totally a California Blonde but she's also smart. She graduated from Harvard Law and is successful lawyer. And in three months she will marry her boyfriend Emmett (Luke Wilson) in Fenway Park.

The only thing that can complete this happy picture is if she reunites her dog, Bruiser, with his biological mother. Alas, it is not to be as Elle finds Bruiser's mom at a local animal testing lab. She turns to her law firm for help and when they fire her she resolves to go to Washington DC and change the laws. It's Elle against the US Government -- an even battle as it turns out.

Movie

I haven't seen the first movie and apparently the sequel is not as good as the original. Still, this is a light comedy that brought the audience to a lot of laughs, so it can't be all bad. Personally, I liked Elle's two sorority friends, Margot and Serena, more than Elle herself. You just have to go all the way with the California Girl type of character.

Recommendations

A light summer comedy that is funny at times. What more do you expect?
