This is the second DunDraCon battle. We started Friday, Feb 12 at about 21:30 and ended at about 03:00. This time each player only had two Mechs and I cut back the OPFOR to a reinforced company, hence why the battle was much shorter. Present were Donald Kubasak (Selena Kyle), Dave Sweet (Sir Wrigley), Steve Sweet (Roy Fowlker), Eric Row (Clyde Brown), and Christopher Wong (Jinx). Pictures were taken with a Nikon CoolPix 900.

Game time is November 3026. The Blowfish, Company A, 1st Battalion is on Vulcan while the Fugu II is being repaired after being damaged during a bandit assault two months previously. The newly formed Company B, 2nd Battalion is there also, Captain Roy Fowlker commanding the two lances of recruits. A pirate dropship of approximately Overlord size has been shot down near a volcano that had erupted last month. Selena forms a short company to look for salvage.

The mapboard is eight maps. Four on top and four on the bottom. This represents the lave field, which is Magma Crust terrain. The lake and river is Magma Liquid terrain. Trees are not present. Sublevels are actually hills of the indicated levels. I didn't use the "check to see if a Mech falls through for every hex entered" rule. Each PC got to roll Tech/Mech, Engineering, and Tinker. The combined Margin of Success reduced the heat buildup due to terrain each round.

Note that some images are a little blurry. I don't have the steadiest of hands. At least with the flash on, the shutter speed is pretty good for static scenes. The CoolPix cannot take pictures of moving subjects at all. Low res pictures are 640x480, hi res pictures are 1280x960. All are JPEG, Millions of Colors. Four pictures were taken at the beginning of each round.

Vulcan, LC. Selena organizes a short company to go after the downed pirate dropship. She takes Sir Wrigley, Roy, Clyde, Jinx, and five other Mechs. The lava fields around Mt Hephaestus sizzle with heat, and the company makes slow progress to avoid overheating.

Once they reach the pirate dropship, they encounter a company of pirate Mechs with a lance of hovercraft support. The fight is vicious, as both sides barely maneuver to avoid overheating. Mechs heat up quickly, jumping becomes a dangerous adventure.

The pirate left flank is lightly manned and quickly outgunned as Clyde and Andre destroy a Spider and work on a Whitworth as a pirate Hunchback reinforces the left. The pirate center is strong, with an Ostsol, Archer, Rifleman, Griffin, and Phoenix Hawk holding a line at a molten lava river. They face Selena, Rufus, Jinx, Blake, Sir Wrigley, and Drew. The pirate right is anchored at a small hill manned by an Archer, Shadow Hawk, Hunchback, and Stinger. Roy and Huy face the four enemy Mechs there.

In the center, Selena and Rufus play with the Rifleman and Archer. Wrigley and Drew join in, but both enemy Mechs withstand the initial barrages. Jinx and Blake trade fire with the Ostsol. The pirate center concentrate on Selena and her Mech shudders at the many impacts. The pirate hovercraft scream in, raking Selena some more.
