Summary

Roger is shot by a sniper but recovers.

Taurian relief forces have landed on New Vandenberg. The strike force forms a perimeter around one of the captured bases and digs in. The Blowfish are given a sector to defend against an expected Taurian attack. They have a 50 mile square sector with mountains at the northern end and a swamp/river at the southern end. Farther south is the Capellan rear areas. A major river delineates the eastern end of their sector. There is a trail through the mountains and swamp. There is a narrow valley which the river is part of.

CO Sir Wrigley deploys two LP/OPs forward to alert the Blowfish when the enemy advances. He then blows up a bridge to help secure his right flank. The recon lance will guard the right flank behind the mountains. The attack lance will guard the trailhead at the south end of the mountains. Sir Wrigley takes Izzy, Clyde, and Roger to guard the trailhead at the north end of the mountains.

The Taurians send a medium/heavy BattleMech company through the mountain trail. A mixed tank company is sent along the west bank of the major river.

Sir Wrigley's lance engage the enemy BattleMechs in a surprise attack. The unit planted some vibrabombs which do some damage. In a classic hit and fade attack, the Blowfish disable an enemy Falcon and strip the armor from an enemy Cataphract. They take some armor damage in return before they retreat.

Wrigley orders the recon lance to join up with the attack lance as his lance falls back to that position. They will then fight the enemy BattleMechs and destroy them. The Taurian tank company is blocked by a river so they'll need to bring up an engineering section to cross it. Or they'll have to go around the swamp and through the Blowfish's current position.
