Summary
Selena hires the rest of 1st Battalion to a long term retainer contract
that matches 1st Company's contract. Altairan intelligence informs the
Duchess that a Gauss Rifle has been found by Davion units on New
Aragon.
She decides to send Wrigley's company, plus Izzy and Maya, to retrieve
the weapon for her Behemoth.
2nd Battalion departs for Verthandi. Just in time, as Warlord
Cherenkoff
issues new orders to regulate Mercenary units in the Dieron District.
In
light of Wolf's Dragoons recent rebellion, all Mercenary units are to
be
restricted to their bases when not on duty, no new Mercenary forces may
be hired without clearance from Cherenkoff, and Mercenary units must be
escorted by DCMS troops when they are out performing their duties.
Wrigley's company arrives at New Aragon in the 2nd week of February.
Their primary objective is an Objective Raid to capture the Gauss
Rifle,
they have two secondary objectives, to capture any other Lostech that
may be around, and to deal as much damage as they can to Davion forces.
Major Wrigley decides to hit the Star League station that has been
discovered. The base is located somewhere in the hills of New Aragon.
The Gauss Rifle is being stored on a base some two hundred kilometers
from the hills. Wrigley wants to hit the station, loot it, the use
the Dropship for a quick hop to the base and capture the Gauss Rifle.
The company lands in the hills, evading Davion aerospace forces.
Wrigley
splits up the lances to search for the Star League station. The command
lance finds the base and Wrigley orders an immediate attack. A
Warhammer
and a Quickdraw are on patrol to defend the base, but Wrigley soon
discovers that the defenders also have a Charger and a Hunchback.
As the defenders sortie out to meet Wrigley's lance, Izzy and Maya come
upon the scene and strike from the rear. The Davion lance puts up a
brave fight, crippling a Rifleman and damaging the other Mechs. But
the Blowfish superior numbers and morale wins through in the end as
they capture the Warhammer and Charger and destroy the Quickdraw.
They quickly loot the station and then return to their Dropships for
phase 2 of the operation. Wrigley's lance is quite disorganized from
the action and will probably not be in any shape to participate in
the attack on the Davion base. Izzy's Mech has also taken significant
damage, although Maya's Mech is untouched.
