Summary
Maya gives birth to Marie Aiesha Finch.
On Sirius. Katherinec conducts a solo long range patrol. She finds
a group of Marik Mechs and follows them to a secret base. Confidently
she attacks, taking on the four Mechs. Quickly she discovers that
these are Star League Mechs, although still no match for her Clan
Mech.
In a running battle, she quickly disabled a Hermes and a Cicada.
Two Phoenix Hawks remain, both pilots itching to gun down the rebel
Mech. But the Marik pilots are still unfamiliar with their Mechs,
and continue to miss the rapidly moving Shadow Cat. Selena brings
down one Phoenix Hawk and her Mech is only lightly damaged.
The last Hawk proves to be a stubborn opponent, doggedly keeping
pace with the Cat as it jumps from woods to woods. At last, the
Hawk pilot is a little faster and blasts the Shadow Cat, disabling
an LRM launcher. Selena throws caution into the wind as she stands
still and double fires her Mech's weapons.
But the Phoenix Hawk still lives, and it returns fire, unfortunately
not doing any significant damage. Selena fires again, and this time
the Hawk goes down for the count.
Later, Selena searches the base and discovers that it is a small
research station. They have been looking at her Omni-Mech's pods,
taken from the Blowfish dropship. With this and the specialized
ammo, she reloads her Mech and heads back to Wrigley's base camp.
