____Background (-15)____

Dr. Bradley Jones was afflicted with a rare incurable
degenerative bone disease since birth.  Bound to a wheelchair, he had devoted most of his life to developing a cure.

Working at a government laboratory on Island City, Dr. Jones
had finally achieved what he had worked at all these years: a
cure to his terrible ailment!  His experimental radiation
treatment was a scientific breakthrough.  He decided that he
would be the first human test subject for this treatment.
Everything went according to plan, the treatment was a
complete success!  Dr. Jones could feel his bones strengthen
under the radiation emitters.  Finally, it was time to open
the treatment pod and let the rejuvenated doctor walk the
earth on his own two feet for the very first time, when
suddenly a loud explosion rocked the lab. Something was wrong, the pod would not open, the controls must have been damaged during the explosion, and worse yet, the radiation level in the pod was increasing.  Dr. Jones' wife/lab assistant, Holly Jones, was desperately trying to open the pod door and lower the radiation levels, when the controls exploded in a blinding flash of light...

When Dr. Jones regained consciousness, he was lying on the lab floor, with his wife beside him.  He had somehow shattered the pod door with his bare hands. With the lab still on fire, Dr. Jones had to get his wife to safety; he smashed through the lab doors and flew out of the laboratory.  That was when he discovered his incredible powers: the massive bombardment of radiation in the pod had given him superhuman strength and agility, with the power of flight and the ability to absorb and release radiation.

Dr. Jones has now renewed his search for a cure, this time for his wife, who has been comatose since the lab accident. He has also dedicated his life to fighting crime and helping the weak, those who can't help themselves, in the form of Rad, the Radiation Man!

____Description (-15)____

Bradley Jones is a man in his early thirties, with dark brown
hair and icy blue eyes; he is of average height and athletic
build (thanks to the radiation treatment).  When working in
the lab, Dr. Jones is bespectacled, usually wears a white lab
coat over his shirt and slacks.  When he is off, he generally
just wears a T-shirt with blue jeans.  When in Rad form, Dr.
Jones has flaming red hair with fiery crimson eyes, and wears
a red/orange/yellow costume with a radiation symbol on his
chest.

____Personality (-15)____

Dr. Jones is normally a optimistic and cheerful person, but
when the subject of his wife is brought up, he grows sullen.
He has blamed himself for her condition, and vows to not rest
until she is revived.
