Calorie Counter Apps
Time to try a new calorie counter app. I first used MyFitnessPal app until they added ads which change periodically.
I've been using MyPlate Calorie Tracker which recently changed their ui. The home screen no longer shows the food you've eaten -- you have to drill down and I find that annoying. Also the app only syncs like once a day so I was constantly forcing sync.
I downloaded ten apps (including MyFitnessPal to see if it's gotten better). Previously I'd ignored iPhone apps (and most calorie counters are iPhone apps, i.e. don't have a landscape mode) but this time I didn't and eventually settled on an iPhone app.
I settled on Nutritionix Trax:
Nutritionix Track - Calorie Counter & Food Tracker (2016) [4.0]
- iPhone UI, no landscape mode
- Small window (not made for bigger iPhones)
+ All logged foods shown on page
+ Good database of food
+ No ads
+ No in-app purchases

It lacks weekly summaries and landscape mode but otherwise looks good. Guess we'll see how I feel a year from now.
Here are the other apps I tried:
Healthy Weight Loss, Better Living - Inlivo (2014) [3.5]
- iPhone UI, no landscape mode
+ But uses full iPad screen
