A Klingon story. Emperor Kahless (who is actually a clone of the legendary Kahless who started the Klingon Empire) overhears a plot to overthrow Chancellor Gowron (Emperor is only the titular head of the Empire, it is actually ruled by the Klingon Council with the Chancellor as the head of the Council).
But a "lost scroll of Kahless" was recently discovered discrediting his legendary feats. So when Kahless visits Gowron he is not believed. To stop the plot, which would plunge the Empire into chaos, Kahless enlists the aid of Worf and Captain Jean Luc Picard...
Kevin Conway, who plated Kahless in the tv show, narrates. He's fairly good and he even does ok with Deanna Troi's voice. I didn't find the book interesting. The audio experience was a little better, possibly because it's shorter and condensed so it was easier to grasp what was going on with the scrolls (something that confused me when reading the book; and the answer is that nothing is going on with the scrolls, they're mentioned a couple of times and then almost dropped from the narrative).
It's a pretty average audio book.
