Apple Magic Mouse 2
Apple Magic Mouse 2
Apple Magic Mouse 2 is a Bluetooth mouse with a flat top surface. You can click down and it registers left and right click by where your finger rests on the surface when you click (if you have fingers on both left and right it's considered a left click).
The top is a limited touchpad and you can do one, two and three-finger gestures, though the control panel only have about 7 set actions and each action has two or three pre-defined gestures you can set to activate the action. But otherwise it doesn't act like a touchpad so you can't for example draw with it.
Bluetooth connection seems average. If you get good Bluetooth connections then this mouse should not be any worse and if you get bad connections then this mouse should not be any better. Like with the Magic Keyboard I'm hoping Apple eventually adds a co-processor to help with Bluetooth.
Unlike the Magic Keyboard you can't plug in the mouse and use it wired because the connection is on the bottom surface.
Overall, because of Bluetooth unreliability, I've gone back to using a wired mouse. I also had a problem with accidental scrolling -- if you're resting your finger on the top and move it a bit that's a scroll but it's not comfortable keeping your finger hovering all the time -- though you can turn off the scrolling action.
