About This Site

February 2, 2002: Michael Conrad, with Starfury Conventions, has made a promotional desktop wallpaper. It is in the "Conventions: London 2002" section.

August 25, 2001: For some reason I never get anything done on time. :-) The ANE section is finally up. 105 pictures. I don't know if Tartan was going to go through and cull them into something more reasonable, so I just left them all in. Next up will be adding more photos to the Official Images section.

To everyone who has emailed me: thanks for the kind words and for pointing out my many mistakes and for making suggestions. I'm very bad about writing back to people, and I'll resolve to be more responsive. I feel bad that I can't devote as much time to this site as it deserves. But hopefully I'm not totally botching it. Anyways, thanks for visiting this site and taking a look around.

June 12, 2001: I finally got around to segmenting the music videos into smaller files, so people don't have to keep restarting if a 25 MB download fails in the final 10 minutes. Recompressing the music video files didn't work, so you're stuck with the current file sizes. Unfortunately, the video clip files are all gone, as the person who had them lost them. Next up is to get the ANE folder organized and done.

Dec 25, 2000: I forgot to mention that this server is shut down for backups every day for 15 minutes starting at 05:00 PST (13:00 GMT). If you're downloading a large file when the server goes down, you'll lose your work. Also, PacBell (my DSL provider) only guarantees a "best effort" uptime. All in all I don't recommend trying to download the music videos unless you have a 128kb connection -- wait until I have them as smaller files.

Hello and welcome to the Hudson Leick Gallery. This web site was created by Nick Macfarren (aka "The Tartan Terror") a couple of years ago. His intention was to create the best multimedia site devoted to Hudson Leick; and I think he did just that. But times change. Nick lost the fire and the willingness to pay for and maintain this site, so he asked me to do it for him. Although I have my doubts as to my ability to do so, I have agreed to try and keep the spirit of this site alive.

The first thing I did was move the site over to my web server, which runs continuously over a DSL link. It's only a 128kb connection, so if you are blessed with a broadband connection to the Internet this site will be slower than before. For everybody else you probably won't notice a difference. The next thing I did was reorganize the structure and check the links. In general you shouldn't see any changes, although some of the broken links have been fixed. If you find any errors please tell me -- it's not as if I check the links every day.

Third thing was to reclaim the music video files from Griller's site, which has a dynamic IP address so the links to the files hadn't worked for quite a while. The files are huge though, and over a 128kb link it would take a half hour to transfer one file. That's something I'll work on. Another thing I'll work on is trying to reclaim the video clips from whereever Nick left them. This one I'm less sure I'll be able to do, but we can always hope.

Anyways, my main to-do's in the next few months are:

If you have any suggestions, comments, questions, or whatever, feel free to contact me. Any praise should go to Nick for creating and putting so much work into this site. Hopefully I can do justice to this site and continue the excellent work that Nick has started.
