Week 5. A late game rally fell short as the Sacramento Torgians fell to the New York Valkyries 66-62. The Torgian offense was sluggish all game, barely managing 300 yards in the loss. New York was led by QB Donovan McNabb, throwing for two touchdowns, and RB Curtis Martin, running for another two touchdowns. On a brighter note, the Sacramento defense finally showed up for a game, scoring 13 points. Even with the improved defense, it didn't stop the Torgians from signing LB James Farrior. The loss drops the Torgians to 1-3, their worst start in their three seasons in Sacramento.

Week 6. The Torgians' bad start continued as they were beaten by Mykala's Stick Tricks, 91-61. For the second straight game, the Torgian offensive attack was stymied and held to under 350 yards. Torgian QB Rich Gannon never connected with the end zone, held to no touchdowns for the first time this year. Stick Trick RB Shaun Alexander ran for 142 yards and scored two touchdowns in the win. After the game, Sacramento acquired DE Michael McCrary.

Week 7. With several members of the team struck down with the flu, including starting QB Rich Gannon, the Sacramento Torgians lost again, dropping their record to 1-5. Backup QB Aaron Brooks threw for 249 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Even without RB Marshall Faulk, the Blindeye Jawbreakers scored 99 points to Sacramento's 74. Torgian fans booed the team near the end of the game. Sacramento continued tinkering with its team, adding CB Deltha O'Neal to help in the secondary.

Week 8. Sacramento Torgian fans had something to cheer about again, as the Torgians defeated the hapless St Louis Puffaholics 74-58. CB Deltha O'Neal led the strong defensive effort, as the Sacramento defense stifled the Puffaholics and scored 30 points. Even with the win, which ups the Torgian record to 2-5, the Sacramento offense continues to falter. QB Rich Gannon, perhaps still recovering from the flu, threw for only 158 yards and no touchdowns. Paying for their draft strategy, the Torgians once again signed another defensive player, this time Safety Sam Shade.

Week 9. 63-51. Not a great offensive game, but a win is a win as the Sacramento Torgians defeated the Knoxville Kaners to improve their record to 3-5. QB Aaron Brooks, starting in place of the out-of-favor QB Rich Gannon, threw for 164 yards and two interceptions in a second poor performance. RB Ahman Green had a career day, rushing for 169 yards and one touchdown. The Torgian defense looked impressive for the second week in a row in scoring 21 points. The Sacramento coach apologized for not starting Gannon, claiming that he wanted to shake up the Torgian's oft times anemic offense. With their next to last roster move of the season, the Torgians signed LB Mo Lewis.

Week 10. QB Rich Gannon was back at the helm, throwing two touchdown passes, including one to WR Randy Moss. Yet the Sacramento Torgians lost in an overtime heartbreaker, 84-83. Torgian LB Randall Godfrey was injured early in the game, though the Torgian defense never faltered as they scored 17 points. With the loss, Sacramento drops to 3-6 and is rapidly closing on its first losing season ever. With their last regular roster allowance, the Torgians added LB Marvcus Patton to the team. With their ten roster additions Sacramento added nine defensive players. WR Jerry Rice is the lone offensive exception.

Week 11. The Sacramento Torgians scored a team record 146 points as they thrashed the Stepchild Beaters, 146-89. QB Rich Gannon threw for 311 yards and 4 touchdowns, Wide Receivers Randy Moss and Jerry Rice, as well as TE Marcus Pollard all caught touchdown passes. The Torgian defense scored 21 points in the record win, which pushed the Torgian record to 4-6. After the game an impromptu party started, celebrating the victory, one of the few shining stars in the season so far.
