Week 12. QB Rich Gannon threw for three
touchdowns and RB Ahman Green
rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown as the Sacramento Torgians lost
to a
superior Twisted Nuts, 97-88. RB Charlie Garner had 106 all purpose
yards and
also caught a touchdown pass in the loss. Even though the Torgians
stand at
4-7, the mood in the locker room is optimistic. "Our offense is finally
clicking and our defense is still solid," commented Gannon. "If we can
keep
this up, we'll win our share of games." Green was also enthusiastic,
"We're
in the *groove* baby! We're going to win *every* single game from now
on!"
Week 13. The Sacramento Torgians scored 101 points,
their second
biggest scoring total this year, as they defeated the Wyoming
Annihilators
101-51. QB Rich Gannon threw three touchdown passes. Wide Receivers
Randy
Moss and Jerry Rice along with TE Marcus Pollard each caught a
touchdown pass
and combined for 19 receptions and 318 yards. "Oh, yeah! We're feeling
it
now!" exclaimed RB Ahman Green, who had 105 all purpose yards. The
Torgians
improved to 5-7 with the win.
Week 14. The second place New York Valkyries came to
visit the
Sacramento Torgians. The Torgians made sure that the Valkyries left
with
a loss, avenging a defeat earlier in the season. Sacramento won 81-79
in
overtime, led by outspoken RB Ahman Green with 174 all purpose yards
and one
rushing touch down. WR Randy Moss also had a great game, catching seven
receptions for 158 yards and one touchdown. "It's payback time!"
proclaimed
Green before the game. "The Stick Tricks are next baby!" Sacramento now
stands with a record 6-7.
Week 15. The surprising Sacramento Torgians defeated
Mykala's Stick
Tricks, 85-76, to reach the 500 mark for the first time this year and
improve
their record to 7-7. "Nobody beats us in our house!" yelled RB Ahman
Green,
who had a disappointing 9 yards on 9 carries. "Throw the ball to me and
we'll
win every time," declared WR Randy Moss, who caught 7 receptions for
144
yards and 2 touchdowns. WR Jerry Rice and TE Marcus Pollard each caught

Week 16. Rolling to their fourth straight win,
the Sacramento Torgians
outscored the Blindeye Jawbreakers 75-63. TE Marcus Pollard cauught the
lone
touchdown pass for the Torgians, who improved their record to 8-7. RB
Ahman
Green carried the ball 21 times for 150 yards and the Sacramento
defense
scored 23 points in an outstanding effort. "Ain't *nobody* going to
beat us
now!" claimed an exuberant Green. "Let's not get too excited. The
Jawbreakers
were playing shorthanded. Don't underestimate our last two opponents,"
said
QB Rich Gannon to his teammates after the game.
Week 17. The Sacramento Torgians defeated the St
Louis Puffaholics
71-65 for their fifth straight victory and maintaining third place in
the
league with a 9-7 record. QB Rich Gannon had a mixed game, throwing two
touchdowns and two interceptions. WR Jerry Rice was the sole consistent
weapon in the offense, with 9 catches and 108 receiving yards. "We're
playing
for pride now," stated the quiet Rice. "We started badly and now we're
proving that we have a good team here in Sacramento."
Ok, there's one game left, against the Stepchild
Beaters. Unfortunately, near
the end of the season a lot of people on losing teams tend to give up,
creating dead teams. The Beaters seem to be one of those teams. You can
still
lose to them, but it's less likely since they're handicapping
themselves by
playing a couple of guys short.
Meanwhile, we started 1-5 and have now gone 8-2 since then, moving from
last
place in the league to third place. I'm two games begind second so no
way
we're catching them. There is another 9-7 team but we have a 41 point
lead
in the first tie breaker. If we both win next week it's unlikely he'll
catch
up and overtake me, though it's not impossible.
