Spending a
couple days driving with my dad and I've come to realize that he's not
a very sure driver. If he doesn't know where he's going he hesitates
too much, which must really be annoying to drivers behind him. I'm more
of the "keep driving" type -- even if I'm going the wrong way. For
Goddess' sake don't cause a backup!
We arrived at my aunt's (dad's cousin I think) house in Vancouver. Big
house which I dimly remember from when we visited last in 1990 or so.
T’a Juanita is quite wealthy with two daughters and a son, I think. I
really have to pay more attention on who my relatives are. Christina
and Carolina are the twins, with Christina getting married next
weekend. Cesar looks older. All the kids are quite good looking.

It's an
overcast day with some rain. Summer so it's warm anyway, the effect
being a muggy sort of day and not altogether pleasant. Vancouver
(that's British Columbia by the way, not Washington) itself has no
freeways running through it -- Highway 99 turns into surface streets in
the city. The side streets are narrow, at the least the ones I've seen.
Getting into Canada was easy. The border guard asked how many people
(three), why we were here (tourism and a wedding), for how long (10
days), and if we were leaving any gifts (yes, $75 worth). Didn't even
look at the passports. Well, it's not like as if people are going to
Canada to blow things up.
