Saw this sign in front of the Sun campus in Menlo Park: "Show me again what you showed me before and Sun will rise again." Or something really close to that. My first reaction was that it's a really depressing message, an acknowledgement by management that Sun is in big trouble. I'm so glad that Oracle is doing fine, though who knows about the future. You know, lots of companies go downhill and fail, even big companies.

Kooma is visiting for a while. She arrived today and will be staying at my place since I have a spare room. Don't know what she'll be doing since I'll be at work a lot. Probably we'll go to Elk Grove to see mom and dad, though maybe they'll come here. Strange little feud they're having. Oh well, I just can't understand grownups.
The Deadlands stuff arrived a couple days ago. Suddenly I have an almost complete collection. Now on to the next game system. I looked into Tekumel and man, that is going to be hard to collect. First published by TSR in 1975, it's gone through many publishers and the different versions and supplements are all very rare nowadays. One of the classic "quirky" worlds (the other one I can think of is Jorune). But Guardians of Order is going to publish a new version this year.

Shannon is starting his Dying Earth mini-campaign this week. We made characters last week. Personally, I have a bad feeling that I'll hate the game. The system is way too simplistic and the RPG seems to emphasize acting, which is not my idea of fun. But Shannon seems to be into it and I should try to give it a good effort so as not to sabotage the game. Who knows, maybe I'll enjoy it. It does seem like a lot of work though.
