Vip Bhola
(Republican). Not a bad statement of issues, but in the end it's rather
uncommital. He doesn't say anything that makes him stand out, for good
or ill, and I think that's a disadvantage for an unknown.
John W. Beard (Republican). Basic Republican ideals -- run California
more like a business, make California more business friendly, cut down
government and get rid of the unnecessary parts. Again, nothing that
yells out "I'm the right candidate" to me.
Ed Beyer (Republican). Tax credits for businesses, target fraud in
state welfare programs, consolidate redundant state departments, reform
Workers Compensation, protect class size restrictions in schools,
enfore our borders, clean air and water for California. Maybe I've been
reading too many of these, but I don't see enough of a difference
between candidates.
John Christopher Burton (Independent). Actually, Socialist Equality
Party. Transform large corporations and banks into publicly owned
utilities. ==> So why don't these small Socialist parties band
together?
B. E. Smith (Independent). No web site.
David Ronald Sams (Republican). I was going to read his issues but
noticed that he keeps referring to Governor Davis as Grayout Davis.
Such disrespect does not warrant support. Nice looking wife though.

Jamie Rosemary
Safford (Republican). No web site.
Lawrence Steven Strauss (Democrat). Kind of detailed but an awful
looking web site. Nothing that really stands out in terms of issues. I
guess I need to start looking more at qualifications because everybody
more or less sounds the same, except for the Socialist wackos.
George B. Schwartzman (Independent). Hey, has a California flag!
Basically Republican in his financial philosophy. Don't like his
proposed revamp of the University of California system. More laws to
govern HMOs. Passenger rail system. Blah blah blah. A mix of Democratic
and Republican ideals. But not the same mix that I have.
Mike Schmier (Democrat). Lots of words, few concrete actions. Poor guy
caught me in a blah mood apparently.
Darrin Scheidle (Democrat). Stop cutting back on education budget. More
police and fire fighters. Desalination plants. Repeal Car Tax.
Manipulate prices to favor California-made products. ==> Hey, I like
desalination plants because we need water, even not great tasting water.
Christopher Sproul (Democrat). No on Recall. "Smart Growth" which upon
reading looks like Green Party ideals to me. Nice ideals but right now
our economy is the biggest problem.
