We helped
Fulton move Saturday. Kind of sad that he has to sell his house,
although he seems ok with it. Certainly, he was able to keep up with
his mortgage payments longer than I expected. I wonder how I'd do in
the same situation... Hmm, about $25k worth of stock options after
taxes, which is about 6 month's worth of expenses, maybe 8 months if I
cut back on my budget. I guess 9 months to a year with unemployment
benefits.
Anyway, Eric moved into an apartment complex a couple of miles west,
still on the same street (though the St Thomas Expressway blocks the
thruway). Second floor apartment in a nice complex. Two bedroom place,
newly painted with new stove and fridge. He has a view of the courtyard
from his bedrooms and the pool from the other side of the apartment. He
also has a small balcony and the apartment is carpeted.

Moving went
smoothly and fairly quickly. I did push myself a bit. Moving keeps
showing me just how way out of shape I am compared to everybody else in
the group. I don't have any stamina. Eric had like seven monitors along
with the accompanying Sun boxes and PCs. Not that much large furniture
though. A dresses, some bookcases, table, reclining sofa, futon, desk,
bed (though we took that apart so it was easy to move).
Afterwards Rowe, Fulton, Woo and I went to Chili's to eat dinner (the
other guys were tired and left -- that's the problem with carpooling,
you have to compromise on when to come and go). Then Woo and I hung
around Eric's place and they convinced me to buy Diablo 2 (with the
expansion pack) so I can play online with them. I redid the last part
of last week's DC Heroes adventure -- a couple of battles where the two
of them were outmatched but gamely tried to beat the bad guys.
