The Niners
have won their last three games, bringing their record to an even five
wins and five losses. It's been a disappointing season for most Niner
fans, though I'm happy that their defense is finally respectably good.
It's been the offense that has failed, and that will come around
because the Niners have always been an offensive team. Still, they'll
probably have to win their last six games to make the playoffs.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have started out 6-4. Chris Webber
started the season injured. Pollard, Torkoglu, and Jim Jackson are all
gone. Brad Miller, Songaila and Massenburg are in, making the team more
forward heavy than last year. Coach Adleman is still juggling the
rotation as he gets a feel for the players. I'm not worried since it's
still early in the season. They start winning regularly.

In college
football, Cal is a respectable 6-6 (4-3 in the conference) with The Big
Game against Stanford coming up. Stanford is 4-5 (2-5 in the
conference) but they have a habit of beating Cal year after year. Cal
is getting better, 7-5 last year and a winnig year this year could be
the start of a nice trend. Of course, they lost 10 games in 2001 and
college football can be tumultuous when the lineup turns over every
four years.
Looks like the Sacramento Capitals lost the World Team Tennis
championship in late August. WTT is a very low profile sport, but at
least Sacramento has a good team year after year. I always forget when
the season starts, not that it's easy to keep track of. But in
Sacramento you take your professional sports when you can. I still miss
the Sacramento Surge.
