I accidentally bought the Mediterranean Terra chips. Man, they're awful. I think it's because I don't like lemon flavor in my chips. That "hint of lemon" I can taste quite a bit. In fact, I can barely taste the chips other then the lemon taste. Reminds me of the lemon-flavored chips Woo occasionally brings to gaming. Awful.

Just updated to Safari 1.2, released today. I think there's only one new preference -- you can now have Safari highlight URL links as you tab. Safari now supports LiveConnect, which allows JavaScript to talk to Java applets.

The Hallmark Channel monthly schedule now works. There's a JavaScript tooltip window that shows you the episode details when you cursor over the time. Used to just pop up way off screen, but now it's right on target.

I can now use Oracle's internal ARU checkin application, which I think is a Java app. Some of the header and footer graphics don't come up but that's not important. The ARU detail pages still continuously reload, though at worst I can sort of use that.

Even Tarantella almost works. I can now log into the main page. Then I can start KDE which pops up a big window where a Java applet simulates an X Server or something like that. It even shows the desktop. and I can do things. Unfortunately it tends to blank the screen after a second or two and then I have to click somewhere to bring the screen back for another second or two. Still, better then Gnome which didn't start and Xterm which pops up a blank window. Someday everything will work. I'm encouraged by the progress.
Worked from home today. It was raining and windy in the morning and I wanted to be hear so I could hear it. I like rain but sitting in my cubicle you can't hear anything even when it's stormy. Worked on one bug and did some email correspondence but really I don't tend to get much done.

I watched Stargate SG-1. You know, I like Dr Jackson's replacement, Jonas. When it happened lots of fans got mad. But now a couple years later when I get to see those shows, they're just as good as before. Jonas is a cool character -- he's got that alien "ooh, Earth culture is great!" attitude, unlike the Jaffa who is way too aloof. In contrast Dr Jackson was a bit too smug and preachy at times. Of course I think they recently brought back Dr Jackson and got rid of Jonas.

The Apple Store had a 10% off sale last weekend on iPod stuff, including iPods and iPod accessories. I think it even applied if I went through the Apple Corporate Store which already gives me about a 10% discount. So I could have bought a 40 GB iPod for like $405 plus California sales tax. Luckily I don't have enough money in my computer budget and since I'd be buying the iPod to record gaming sessions, I wouldn't be able to do that until the Griffin iTalk comes out in April. It would take about a year of running a weekly game to recoup the iPod price from not buying cassette tapes.

Played some more Diablo LOD. Finished up to Act 3, Kurast Bazaar. About half the act left to go. And then Acts 4 and 5 before I'm finally done and with some willpower I can stop playing outside Friday night Diablo. It just takes too much time and so does my DCH campaign and working on my web site and playing basketball. Barely any time to get any work done.
