I went to the ebMUG meeting last night (see yesterday's Journal). Not that many people there, probably because there were no feature guests. I spent my time taking notes of the meeting. The PowerBook lasted the 2-1/2 hours fairly easily -- I think I had about 40% charge left. I had it on "Longest Battery Life" and for the most part I wasn't using the disk drive.

I left at like 16:30 and still only got there right after 18:00. Traffic is brutal at this time of day. That is one reason I stopped going to ebMUG meetings. Another reason was that I got home kind of late and I wanted to watch television and it all it seemed like a lot of trouble for moderately interesting meetings.

Still, it was good when I was taking notes. Kept me focused on the meeting and gave me something to do. I'll probably go to more meetings so I can take notes. I also submitted my notes to ebMUG and they liked them so it's a bit of an ego thing for me, as many things are when you get right down to it.

Today I got no work done. Instead I kept reading my GURPS: Campaigns book. It's very interesting and there are a whole lot of rules. Much more than Basic Set 3ER but probably less than Basic Set 3ER combined with Compendiums I and II. But I never read the Compendiums, it's a lot of rules for me. It'll take me a long while to get the rules down. Good thing BattleTech is relatively role-playing lite.

Diablo II tonight was relatively standard. Only the three core people: Fulton, Woo and I. My brother Chris skipped out without notice and his friend didn't show up (though Chris mentioned that there was some sort of falling out between them so I guess we won't see that friend anymore).
So the three of us did the rest of Act I on Nightmare level. Relatively straight forward except for Andariel who in Nightmare throws this spiky-things spell that affect the whole area around her. She's constantly doing it too so everybody was dying like crazy. Actually it was mostly me dying, Fulton a few times, Woo stayed back and let his minions die for him.

We found a magic Ancient Armor which I morphed into the last piece of Milabrega's Regalia. It's a Paladin set and gives me +3 to all Paladin skills. Also doubles my armor. The cost is I do lots less damage and my resistances are shot again. I had them all up to max (in Nightmare no less) and now only Cold is at max.

But I can add four sockets and raise my resistances that way. Cool thing is that you can add sockets with a Socket Screw and you can even remove socketed items so that you can replace socket powers. Of course it costs money but it's a great option.

The damage thing I fixed with the Soul-something ring. I finally finished the first doll set and the six dolls morphed into this soul-ring. Does like fifty points of fire damage, resistances plus 10, a few other things. Not the greatest ring in the world but pretty good if you don't have cool unique rings or souls already. With the ring I now do about as much damage as I did before.

And making the ring frees up a bunch of space in my stash. Now I need to get a Baal doll and finish up that set. That would also free up a lot of space in my stash. As for set items, at this point I think I'll try to get the Elite set for my class: Griswold's Legacy. Wonder what level I'll need to be to wear that?
