Apparently my sister doesn't like raw tomatoes. I don't mind raw tomatoes with something else. Like meat or in a sandwhich. Cooked and warm is better though. Also, it seems that my brother is living with his girlfriend. Not just them two, there are three other people in the apartment. They don't share a room. This is the kind of information I don't need to know!

We went out for dim sum at Rice Bowl. We got there a bit after 11:00 and the place was already almost full. Lots of people. The food was really great. Better than last time. The two hostess girls are quite cute. One of I guess is a "bit trampy" as Steph put it. That's part of the charm of Rice Bowl.

I saw the Falcons-Niners football game. The 49ers played fairly well. The defense had about one quarter when they couldn't stop the Falcons but other than that the defense played very well. The offense was a bit ragged. Tim Rattay got banged around in the first half and actually was knocked out of the game.

Ken Dorsey came in and really moved the team. I was surprised because Dorsey hadn't really shown anything in the pre-season. But he was passing crisply, not bothered by the Falcon blitzes. Very impressive. Even Rattay finally settled down when he came back in the second half of the game after Dorsey was also knocked out.

Still, the running game was awful this game. But I expect that to get better since Keven Barlow is a good runner and has experience. The problem with the quarterbacks and receivers is that they're all inexperienced so they'll be learning the whole season.
The 49ers could have won but they had some key turnovers. Atlanta fumbled the ball away in their first series but then Barlow fumbled it right back in the next play. Rattay was driving down the field and threw an interception in the end zone. Late in the game they gave up the ball again deep in Falcon territory.

So losing by two points, they could have easily won. I'm not worried. The team played well, recovered after a rough half, showed poise, and other than turning the ball over were very competitive. Actually they had a lot of penalties. I see it's officially ten but it was more since some of the penalties were declined. Especially early they were just killing their drives with 5-yard penalties.

Next week the Niners play at New Orleans. It's another game that they can win. It's interesting watching the Niners. You don't expect much and as long as there is an upside you don't get too down even if they lose. When they got down 21-6 I thought they could have just packed it in and taken the loss. But they didn't give up and that's what I like to see.

In other NFL games this week, New England beat Indianapolis, Washington beat Tampa Bay, and Green Bay beat Carolina. So only one game I picked right, the Washington win. Not too good for me but I don't mind. It's not like I'm betting on this or anything.

We left kind of late though once again traffic was fairly light. I got home  at about 22:30. Lots of things to do this week so we'll see how much I can get done. Damn, there are these occasional ants like everywhere in my house.
