Breakfast
today was bacon, english muffins, and eggs overeasy. I love eggs but
rarely get to eat them because I don't buy them in the supermarket. So
when I have to eat eggs I tend to eat a lot. I think I had five or six
of the muffin-egg combinations. Also about 4 strips of bacon. Breakfast
started late because we all slept late except for Rowe.
Even though breakfast was late we still ate lunch at noon. We finally
finished Friday's spaghetti and there were the usual cold cuts, cheese
and bread, along with chips and dip. So by now everyone was really
full. Meanwhile they were playing Erzo while I watched Bubblegum
Crisis. I also got some reading done.
All too soon it was 17:00 and we went to Dave's dad's (John) place for
the barbequeue. They have three excitable dogs, several cats, and some
farm animals (they run an animal nursery). We immediately sat down and
watched Once Upon a Time in Mexico.
But eventually tore ourselves away and ate and talked. There was also a
jacuzzi but Fulton, Christopher and I left before that horror started.
So I left at 19:00. The trip back was fairly routine. A bit of agony
for me. After four days of eating, I had to go to the bathroom every
couple of hours and it was hurting. But eventually we arrived at
Fulton's at 01:30. I drove to Christopher's place and we got there at
03:30 and I was at my parent's place by 04:00. I should have gone to
sleep but upstairs I had network connection (there are four wireless
access points available, one of them with no password to get in) so I
surfed the Internet until 05:30.

DaveCon was
fun for me and everyone else. Better than a normal convention because
it was a convention that catered to our specific interests. Dave and
family put a lot of effort into making this happen, so we should get
them some sort of gifts. Probably a gift certificate.
The Boot Hill game looked like it was a success. If we ever do another
DaveCon I should run some one-shot adventure. Something I won't do is
overeat, not that it's easy for me to control myself. Certainly though,
all that food came back to haunt me. Probably I should have
participated more, but getting some time to work on personal things was
also nice.
Sleeping was a bit rough, though once I figured out how to open the
window it was much more pleasant Saturday night. The drive down was
kind of boring because I wasn't driving and we were listening to
classic rock music. I'd still carpool with Fulton if it meant he'd go,
but next time I'd hope to have my iPod to listen to music.
Dave was occasionally annoyed at Riley because the kid was crying so
much and it was distracting him. I don't think the rest of us really
cared. Might have been better if Julie and Riley had stayed at Dave's
dad's, but I don't think it was much of a problem.
Here's to DaveCon I, a fine convention and a great experience.
