Proposition 70: Tribal Gaming Compacts. Exclusive Gaming Rights. Contributions to State. Initiative Constitutional Amendement and Statute.

What: Tribes get exclusive gambling rights, pay corporate tax rates only. State can use payments for any purpose (versus limited purposes).

My Vote: No because it specifically undermines the compacts that Governor Schwarzenegger made earlier this year.

Proposition 71: Stem Cell Research. Funding. Bonds. Initiatuve Constitutional Amendment and Statute.

What: Provides constitutional right to conduct stem cell research.

My Vote: No. Whether I approve of stem cell research or not (I haven't made up my mind) it's not a constitutional right.

Proposition 72: Health Care Coverage Requirements. Referendum.

What: Approve or reject Senate Bill 2 that state gov wanted to pass. In general it requires some employers to pay more for worker health insurance.

My Vote: No. I think we make companies too much for health insurance. It should be voluntary. If the state needs the money then raise corporate taxes in general.
Measure 1A: Protection of Local Government Revenues.
What: Ensure local property/sales tax revenues remain with local gov.
My Vote: No. I don't like tying the state government's hands that way.

Measure AA: BART Earthquake Safety Bond
What: $1B local bond for earthquake safety.
My Vote: No. Raise bridge tolls again, raise BART ticket prices.

Measure FF: Washington Township Health Care
What: $190M local bond to improve Washington Hospital.
My Vote: No. I'm selfish this year. This is not my health care provider.
