I bought a bigger battery for my cellphone a few months ago. The old battery barely holds a charge -- good enough for a few minutes of talking. And since I was buying another battery I might as well buy an extended life battery. Of course I was also thinking that maybe I should just replace my cell phone. But it still works fine.

In any case, I didn't install it because I had just replaced the antenna and I figured I'd just wait until it broke (the tape blocks the back lid and I didn't want to tear apart my work). Usually my makeshift antennas last a couple of weeks, maybe a month. Occasionally like this time they last a few months. But now my antenna broke so I finally put in the new battery.

The battery is about twice as thick as the old one and comparatively it lasts forever. It also comes with a new cell phone back cover to accomodate it's sice. The belt holder is already big enough for the thicker cell phone. Now at least I don't have to worry so much about even moderately long telephone conversations.

Today Woo and I went to Dave's boat for a Thanksgiving-style meal that he made. Someone gave him a 13-pound turkey and since he and Julie already have plans for Thanksgiving he decided to make it today and invite the gamers to go over and eat. Naturally, only Woo and I show up -- it was short notice.
His boat is pretty cramped with four adults and a kid in the main cabin (it was too cold to do it on deck), especially with all the kid toys strewn about the place. They really need to buy a house. Writing of which, they did have an offer that was turned down today. Dave was quite disappointed since they had bid about 15% over the asking price but it went for even more money.

You just have to keep trying. He complains a lot but I assume he's letting off steam and doesn't actually believe what he's saying. I guess I'm pretty lucky to have bought my house during a lull in the economy when people were losing their jobs and couldn't afford to buy houses. Now it's been hot again for a couple of years to coincide with the recovering economy.

The house they were bidding on is in Pleasant Hill which would have made me selfishly sad if they had bought it since that's relatively far away for Dave. But it is a nice area other than it being terribly hot during the summer.

In any case, dinner was good. The turkey was very nicely done and juicy. There was sausage and rice stuffing that was fairly good. Instant mashed potatoes which are always good. The gravy was a bit thick, and when it cooled off it congealed into clumps, but it was also good. I don't recall any vegetables.

Actually I was a bit queasy before the dinner. Probably something I ate the previous night. Had to go to the marina bathroom which is kind of scary. Luckily it was only once though I wasn't comfortable the whole night.
