In our weekly status meeting we found out that we need to unit test our new code by Saturday. In the UT environment that is. Which we have no code in. Which we will not have any of our code in until sometime tomorrow. Really not much time to do proper testing so we're all supposed to help out.

But meanwhile I need to work on this bug that I haven't worked on for a month. Paul Quirk needs a fix by Monday and he's been waiting patiently and I haven't even started. Conceptually it's a simple bug: I need to add an API to the C library of our SDK. But not being familiar with the code and with C++ and everything it's been a bit hard so far.

So now I have two competing priorities. Unit testing is important for the group. Paul's bug is important to me. The deciding factor is that the stuff I'm supposed to test I've already been testing as I make code changes. So I'm reasonably sure there are no P1 bugs hidden in the code. It's a bit of a gamble but this is what happens some times.

Woo, Sweet and I played basketball. Riley and Julie were there and Riley kept wanting to play with us which meant we didn't really get much playing done. That's what usually happens when Riley is there but I don't mind much since I'm not all ga-ga for basketball. We played a game of 21 and 3 games of team tip. Woo and I got Dave down to -7 in tip which I think is the worst anyone has ever done. But he started making shots and eventually won.
Afterwards we went to Applebees in Union Landing. I had the chicken fried chicken. It's a breast of chicken "chicken fried" as if you were cooking chicken fried steak. It's not real fried chicken but the closest thing to it in the Applebee menu. Woo and Dave had dessert afterwards. They tried to goad me into getting dessert but I was really full.

Next week Woo is going to Detroit for a contract job. He leaves Saturday at 22:30 so he's definitely missing the second game and probably the first game. He'll be back the following Saturday night and probably won't make the second game. With Christmas being on Saturday that leaves the 18th as the only play date for my game. So I'm taking this opportunity to cancel the second game until New Year's Day. I've also decided to not show up for the first game until then also. I'm hoping by then I'll have a month to miss the guys and be more enthusiastic about showing up to the day game.

Woo mentioned that Shannon has been reading my journal so he knows (and now everyone knows) that I hate playing the new board games. I can be quite negative in my journal entries. Although I remember writing several times that I hate those games, that was probably too strong. What happens is that I get beat down by the relentless pace of today's gaming.

I'm just old and the every week gaming wears on me. Although it's true I don't particularly like those games, when I'm in a better mood I don't mind playing. It's just when I hit an emotional low point it's just another thing that's frustrating me. Eh, it doesn't matter. As I usually say, people can make up their own opinions. It shouldn't matter to me.
