Dave invited
me to come up to Richmond and spend New Year's Eve with his family and
Randy's family. Not having anything better to do I went, though it did
mean that I didn't prep for Saturday's game. Oh well, I can prep Sunday
morning assuming I wake up early enough.
It was raining fairly hard and there were a lot of cars on the road.
But I got there in 50 minutes. Dave, Riley and I drove to Chevy's to
buy dinner. I had the Spinach, Artichoke and Mushroom Enchilada which
was fairly good. It was a rather informal dinner.
Randy has a nice house -- seems to be about standard size with two
floors. A bit messy but that was probably because it's the holidays and
Dave's family has been also living there for a week. Randy and
his wife Lisa have a cat, Whiskers, with a black coat and white feet.
They also just got a puppy, Chester, with a luxurious golden coat.
Whiskers is a friendly cat and went right up to me. Chester is quiet
and curious and kept bothering Murray, who was visibly annoyed.
We watched television. Julie made cookies. I read a book. Randy fell
asleep and the other four of us played a game of Cranium, girls vs
guys. Midnight struck. Then we went back to the game and the guys won.
Riley had woken up and was a bit fussy. By the time Julie and Dave got
Riley back to bed it was after 01:00 and I came back home.
