Jack Foley (George Clooney) is the most successful bank robber in US history, and he's done it without ever using a gun. Karen Sisco (Jennifer Lopez) is a US Marshal, attractive and competent yet cursed with a bad love life. The two are entangled when Jack escapes from prison with the help of his partners Buddy Bragg (Ving Rhames) and Glenn Michaels (Steve Zahn). Karen happens upon the scene and is briefly kidnapped by the trio.

During her brief captivity Karen and Jack developed a sort of rapport. After her escape and a brief stint in the hospital, Karen is back on the case and after Jack and company. Unknown to her, Jack and his friends are going to Detroit to rob the house a former prisonmate, a guy who apparently keeps $5 million in uncut diamonds on the property.

Out of Sight is a chase/caper movie with a romantic element. It tends to jump back and forth in time as it shows an action then later on reveals the cause of the action. It has idiosyncratic characters, a good looking cast, an good writing. The only thing that annoyed me was the stop cuts, where you freeze the frame and hold it for a couple of seconds before you cut to the next scene.

There are no special features.
