"Significant Others" is a failed television series that ran six
episodes. It revolves around Campbell, who is best friends with Nell
and Henry. There is also Campbell's brother Ben who married his
ex-girlfriend Jane. Finally there's Henry's boss Charlotte. It's a
series about relationships, unrequited love that becomes requited, and
about a group of 20-something year olds stumbling through life trying
to find out what they really want to do.
The first episode really grabbed me. And the last episode tied up the
series quite nicely. The inbetween episodes were up and down since
they're more episodic. Jennifer Garner is amazingly adorable. Although
I liked Ben and Jane, they could have
been left out of the series without hurting any. Overall it had
potential though I don't know how long they could have kept three
romances going.
Episodes
101: Pilot
Campbell finds Nell and Henry in bed with each other. This upsets him
because he's secretly in love with Nell. From Campbell's reaction Nell
realizes that she loves Campbell so she dumps Henry. But Campbell's
already moved on and tries to rekindle a relationship with Jane who's
getting married to his brother like tomorrow night. Basically Campbell
comes off as a major dick and it's only right at the end of the series
that he partly comes back. At the end of the episode Henry and Nell and
then Campbell and Nell make pacts to marry each other if they're
unmarried when they are 30.

102: The Next
Big Thing
Campbell and Henry finally decide on a business venture: making kids
videos. Their first video will be based on a farm. Meanwhile Nell can't
seem to commit to a job for more than a few months and when she finally
convinces someone to try her out she hates it. The boys have a hard
time getting funding. Ben and Jane come back early from their honeymoon
and Campbell's vicious rumors put them in a tizzy. Henry makes a move
on his older boss Charlotte.
103: The Plan
Henry and Charlotte start their affair, causing Henry to blow off his
commitment to the video. Nell spends time with a friend of her dad's --
Michael -- and has a fun time with him. Jane decides to help with the
video by lending her lawyer expertise. Ben, working as an executive at
dad's (Leonard) bra factory, wants to put together a lingerie catalog.
104: The Shoot
Henry is unsatisfied being the other man. Ben is enamored with his top
model Britanny, which causes Jane to exhaust herself trying to please
him. Nell declares her love for Michael which is unreciprocated.
Cambell steals Britanny for his video and then starts dating her which
leads to sex which leads to the discovery that she's only 16. The shoot
is done but the film is ruined and Campbell doesn't have enough money
to reshoot. Charlotte visits Ben and runs off thinking that Nell is his
girlfriend.
105: My Left Kidney
Campbell tries to drive off jail-bait Britanny. Ben finishes his
catalog but dad hates it. Henry's dad dies and he goes to see the
family where he learns that he didn't really know his dad at all.
106: Matters of Gravity
Leonard is ecstatic when Campbell gives in and joins the family
business. On a whim Nell decides to work at the bra factory. Ben is
depressed and wants to run away from life. Loving wife Jane is willing
to do it though only to a certain extent. Henry comes back and decides
that what's really important is Charlotte, who eventually comes back to
him too. Campbell can't make it as an executive and quits. Although
Leonard is sad, Ben is still there and the come to an understanding and
Ben is once again satisfied with life. Nell sells her grandmother's
piano to finance Campbell so he can finish the video. In the end he
realizes that she loves him and he loves her. End of series.
