Movie

I don't like comedies but this is a bad movie even for a comedy. Brekin Meyer plays Josh, a college student at Ithaqua University. He has a one-night stand with Beth (Amy Smart), which is taped. Then the tape is accidentally mailed to his girlfriend Tiffany (Rachel Blanchard) over at Austin University. Luckily Tiffany is out until Sunday so Josh and his friends have three days to drive to Austin and get the tape before Tifanny sees it. Hilarity presumably ensues.

What are my problems with Road Trip? For one, I don't like comedy where you're supposed to laugh at the person rather than with them. This is because the jokes get worse and worse as really bad things happen to the characters. There's also nudity but it's not done right or something because it's not sexy or funny or stimulating or anything. There are probably a couple of funny moments but I don't remember them.

Actors

Amy Smart had a surprisingly larger role than is typical for this kind of movie. Of course her little side-trip could have been cut out and the movie would have been much the same. Seann William Scott plays the same character over and over, it seems to me. Tom Green is just freaking annoying. I don't like his comedy at all and all the stuff he does in the movie seems to be mostly ad-libbing.

DVD

There are 10 minutes of deleted scenes, a music video, and a 5-minute behind the scenes promo.

Recommendations

Road Trip just plain sucked.
