Teaser

Kevin Smith, writer and director of cult film favorites in his Askewniverse series ("Clerks", "Mallrats", "Chasing Amy", "Dogma", and "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back"), is a witty man with a lot of advice and anecdotes to tell. Smith makes quite a few speaking appearances at colleges and universities around the country, for the most part answering questions about his films and life. This DVD set contains 3-1/2 hours of material assemble together from several of his speaking appearances.

Comments

Kevin Smith's movies are for the most part at least ok. But what sets the DVDs apart is the awesome commentary by Smith. "An Evening With Kevin Smith" is him just talking about things. Smith is funny and witty and you learn a lot about his various films and his life. I love hearing people talk about themselves, as long as they're good speakers. Kevin Smith is a very good speaker.

DVD

This is a two-disc set with no extra features. But really, a commentary track on top of what is essentially a commentary feature would be pointless.

Recommendations

Highly recommended. If you like any of his movies, especially the dialogue, or if you've heard and like the movie commentaries, then this DVD is definitely for you. It will also be interesting for people who want to know more about the movie industry, especially independent film making.
