Turn 5
After much deliberation, Chancellor Liao launches a
preemptive strike
on the Federated Suns. Two territories are quickly taken.
The Free Worlds League finally finishes distributing
their conventional
troops. They are now ready to enter the war.
House Steiner masses near Terra. A small strike force
takes the Liao
territory from the Confederation. Tech goes up to 24. No more House
Interdiction.
The Davion counterattack retakes the territory near St.
Ives. As usual,
Davion has committed too many Jumpships to the operation, although
13 regiments of various types remain. Hanse Davion remains on exposed
on Achemar.
At this point we decided to end the game. With massive
FWL help, Liao
had a about a one-third chance of destroying or capturing the Davion
Jumpships. In any case, that battle would have destroyed many units
on both sides. Marik probably would have done little. Steiner had an
open road and could have easily captured Hanse Davion, which would
have signalled the end of the Federated Suns within a turn or two.
This would have left the Lyran Commonwealth as the major power in
the Inner Sphere and a clear winner.
Not too many pictures this turn.
