Gibson Couple Wins Lottery

Mr. and Mrs. Bront Tortuga won the Free Worlds Lottery
last week.
Surprisingly, there were no other winning tickets to the 2.2 Billion
M-Bill
lottery, the largest sum won ever. An estimated 6.5 Billion lottery
tickets
were sold before the drawing, the largest in over two decades. Profits
from
the state run lottery go into rebuilding schools and universities
destroyed
by the Succession Wars.
Periphery Trade On the Rise

The Ministry of Trade reported that Free Worlds League
trade with the
periphery states is on the rise. The 800+ page report on the status of
periphery trade shows that exports to the Magistry of Canopus is up by
12.5%
compared to last year. Exports to the Taurian Concordat are up 4.9%
compared
to last year. Imports from the Magistry and the Concordat are up 8.8%
and
2.7% respectively.
Study Shows Spoo Harmful to Dogs
New Delos, The Protectorate, Free Worlds League
Researchers at the University of New Delos released findings from a
study
that shows that spoo is harmful to dogs. The long range study,
sponsored by
the Society to Stop Spoo, concludes that a diet where spoo is
predominant will
kill all dogs. Of 100 dogs fed spoo twelve times a day, 20 died within
a year,
40 more died within 3 years, 35 died within 10 years, and the last five
did
not survive 15 years. The SSS has started a media campaign urging
people to
boycott all spoo products. |
