Summary

Before the unit leaves there's a change in the contract. The Capellan Confederation needs a strike group to take and hold New Vandenburg. The force will destroy as much as they can and force the Taurian Concordant to send relief forces there. This will allow the Capellan army free rein to retake their worlds from the Concordant.

As compensation, the Capellans will fix all of the unit's 'mechs, increase their salary to 500000 C-bills, and provide for generous battle-loss compensation and salvage rights. The unit is required top hire 4 mechwarriors so that all of their 'mechs will be manned.

The unit jumps to New Vandenburg and combat drops onto the planet. While the rest of the company conducts random acts of violence, Sir Wrigley leads Izzy and Clyde on an attack against a Taurian aerospace base. A light lance and an infantry company defend the base. Knowing help is coming, the defenders jump around and stall the team.

Izzy decides to charge and misses. This leaves him in the middle of the enemy lance, who proceed to pound his Shadow Hawk to slag. Izzy ejects and is captured by some infantry troopers. Sir Wrigley and Clyde are forced to retreat when a medium lance arrives to reinforce the defenders.
