Summary

Selena returns from the Draconis Combine. She has visited Warlord Vasily Cherenkoff and Coordinator Takashi Kurita. They will let her challenge Duke Muirvald Cooke of Altair if she accomplishes three favors.

Warlord Cherenkoff has heard that ComStar is trying to hire a mercenary company to conduct an extraction raid on Mallory's World in the Federated Suns. The item is a piece of lostech recently found by the garrison on Mallory. The Blowfish will hire on to ComStar and get the item for the Warlord if possible.

Arena fight in the Liao Arena. Capture the flag, each flag on a level 7 hill. Selena, Sir Wrigley, Clyde, Roy pilot an Awesome, a Victor, a Victor, and a Whitworth respectively. They face a Veteran force composed of a lance of Hunchbacks and a lance of Enforcers.

The section of the Liao Arena they fight in is heavily forested. There are large hills in the north and the south. A river almost divides the two zones. The Enforcers fan left and the Hunchbacks go right to go around the river. Sir Wrigley and Clyde meet the Hunchbacks. Selena and Roy guard their flag and provide fire support.

Brief and brutal exchanges leave a Hunchback destroyed and another gutted. Clyde skates his Victor throught the Hunchbacks without taking damage. Sir Wrigley takes minor damage. Meanwhile the Enforces are approaching the unit's flag. Sir Wrigley falls back to defend the flag while Clyde captures the other flag.

Almost a minute of heavy close range fire leaves Sir Wrigley's Victor destroyed and both the Awesome and Whitworth gutted. Several enemy mechs are also heavily damaged, though no others have been destroyed. Clyde dances back through the line and back to the Blowfish flag. More mechs blow up. The Blowfish win.

ComStar hires The Blowfish. Three month contract. The 'fish get Independent Command and they depart. Total payment is 1,269,113 C-bills.
