Summary
Wrigley's company arrives on Verthandi, a planet in the grip of a
revolution. Jinx and his lancemates go out into Regis city and
have a good time. They find out that the rebels are planning to
attack an isolated outpost in a few days. Jinx shows initiative
and decides to intercept the rebel force with his lance.
Jinx's lance tracks the rebel force successfully and lays an
ambush. The rebel lance consists of a Warhammer, a Phoenix Hawk,
and two Wasps. With his lance deployed, they attack, concentrating
on the Phoenix Hawk. The rebel Mechs fall back in disarray, with
the Warhammer.
The rebel Phoenix Hawk goes down, crippled but not quite out.
The two rebel Wasps mix it up with the Griffin and Assassin.
Meanwhile, the Warhammer fends off Jinx in his Shadow Hawk and
the recon lance Ostroc.
One Wasp goes down as the other Wasp gets a lucky ammo hit on
the Assassin. The Assassin explodes, killing MW Peter North.
The Warhammer goes down as is kicked to death. The Phoenix
Hawk surrenders. The other Wasp is destroyed via an ammo
explosion by Jinx.
Rebel reinforcements arrive but Jinx's lance beats them off.
