____Background (-15)____

Legends still talk about the time before Ralkazan and of the
Chosen One who would someday appear to defeat him. Reality,
however, was a bleak day-to-day existence - until, that is,
they came for my family. I was 15 at the time, and my parents
sacrificed themselves so I could escape. They had been leaders in the underground resistance. I dedicated myself to
continuing their efforts and joined the resistance myself.
Everything changed again when I turned 18 and performed the
ancient coming-of-age ritual that marks passage into
adulthood. I could tell as I was performing the rites that
something was different - I'd seen the ritual performed many
times, and it didn't seem to be going the way I thought it
should ... eventually, however, I finished only to find my
gathered friends starting at me in amazement ... *I* was the
legendary Chosen One. With the fulfilment of the ancient
legends many more people rallied to the cause, and slowly we
began fighting back. Years of fighting eventually culminated
in a face-to-face confrontation with Ralkazan himself. After a lengthy struggle, however, I was defeated. To my surprise he didn't kill me on the spot. It seems that he required the
Chosen One to satisfy a prophecy of his own - one that would
make him all-powerful. In fact, *I* was the reason he'd
invaded our dimension to begin with! As he was laughing to
himself over the completion of his goals, he was suddenly
assualted by some sort of mystical force. Seizing the
opportunity, I renewed my attack and found myself caught up in the same force that had hold of him and found myself
transported .... elsewhere. It seems that one John Gilmore had summoned Ralkazan for his own purposes and I had somehow been dragged along for the ride. When John's ritual ended, Ralkazan was banished back to my home dimension, but I was trapped here with him. I joined up with him to help find a way to get back home and/or to defeat Ralkazan once and for all, but in the mean time I'll do what I can to protect the people of my new home.

Penelope was invisible when she appeared, so John doesn't even know he brought her to this world. A private girl, Penelope became John's secretary and hasn't revealed her origin or powers to him. Seeing how inept John is with "traditional" detective skills, Penelope has resolved to learn those skills so she can help him solve his cases. She has since become fascinated with the PI life and is busily learning as much as she can.

Penelope has recently started modeling. It makes her feel
pretty and wanted, something she didn't get growing up. The
unexpected fame has started to interfere with her other
activities, so she isn't so sure if she wants to continue this aspect of her career.

____Description (-15)____

An attractive young woman in her early twenties with green
eyes and long blonde hair. Always carefully and fashionably
dressed. Wears glasses as her "disguise". Her costume is a
green sleeveless dress with a short, full skirt that she can
wear underneath her normal clothes - then she can disperse her outer clothing and step out of them for a quick-change.

____Personality (-15)____

Being used to fighting injustice as a lifestyle, she takes it
very seriously, but she also greatly enjoys the newfound
freedoms of her new home. She likes playing civilian, paying
close attention to things like fashion and entertainment
(movies, music, dancing, etc). She is basically cheerful and
optimistic by nature and enoys preforming random acts of
kindess. This may make her seem naive to some, but given her
history and her choice of cover-profession, she is far from
it.

She occasionally feels guilty about having a private life, but balances it by always being quick to change gears into
hero-mode, and by spending a lot of her free time working out
how to get back to her home dimension and/or defeat Ralkazan.

She is very amused by John Gilmore's pursuit of publicity, as
she feels a duty and obligation to do the best she can for
other people, without seeking rewards.

Being a famous (at least in Island City) model and with her
knowledge of police procedures, Penelope is aware that privacy is important and that she could easily abuse her powers. She tries to be careful and judicious in her use of her Dispersal/Invisibility powers.
