Encounter 1 (Part 1): Pass the Buck
Ghost Girl
"John Gilmore has left on one of his personal quests. He left you in
charge of the agency. You're busily doing paperwork when an older man
walks into the office."
Andre Casanova is looking for John Gilmore. If told Gilmore is out, he
will speak to Penelope, though he will be unsure of her abilities. But
his need is great. This is the information he will impart:
"I am Andre Casanova, manager of the Dolphin section of the new Water
World park that is opening in a couple of weeks. I come to you with a
most delicate case. Lately, the park has been site to various
accidents. At first we thought it was merely the growing pains of newly
built construction. But the last two accidents have come very close to
hurting some of my employees, and we found evidence of tampering. I
have been able to keep a lid on things, for if the Grapevine found out
it would be very bad for the park. I need you to find who is doing
these horrible things and stop them, preferably with utmost discretion."
Casanova can arrange for Penelope to view the scene of the last two
accidents on the morrow. The other accidents have been cleaned up by
now and will provide no information. Casanova will not mention that he
received a letter demanding Christine's promotion or else. He ignored
the blackmail and the Phantom escalated his attacks. But Casanova
doesn't want to look bad for not doing anything before, hence why he
keeps this little detail out for now.
