Encounter 13: Inside the Ship

All

"As you step inside the hatch, a sparkling red beam flashes towards you from a ceiling-mounted turret. It strikes the wall next to you, leaving an ugly scorch mark. A roaring, pulsating sound fills the alien ship. On the wall opposite the door is a red flashing sign."
  • Laser [AV 6, EV 6]
  • Nets [BODY 10, STR 12, Entangle 4]
  • Bars [BODY 7, INIT 40]
  • Electrified Walls [BODY 9, AV/EV 5]
  • Gas [Poison Touch (non-Lethal) 6]
Information
  • Blue writing beneath the sign reads, in an alien script: "Qualified Officers only. Do not trespass."
  • Detective or Perception vs OV/RV 6/6, 3 RAP: defenses are designed to keep people in.
  • Scientist or Gadgetry vs OV/RV 6/6: Ship has no propulsion system, unlike the other alien ship.
  • Perception vs OV/RV 4/4 to spot power transformer near the entrance. Can be overloaded with an Electrical attack of 6+ RAPs vs OV/RV 4/9.
CPU Room
  • There is a large blue-grey pod [BODY 20] in the center. A cube [BODY 25] with swirling, multicolored gasses visible through its transparent surface. The cube is making strange sounds.
  • In the alien language, the cube says: "By order of the Security Committee, this ship is off-limits to all non-official personnel! Leave now. This is the final warning."
  • 5 RAPs damage disables the pod. 10 RAPs damage destroys the cube.
  • After one minute (4 APs): With a screeching sound, the pod starts cracking. The characters have one action before the pod explodes, knocking everyone down (4 AP Physical Attack). Once the dust settles the heroes see a 7' tall blue-green reptilian alien, sporting small horns on its forehead and a vestigial tail. The alien is grinning at you.
  • If the bad guys got here first, they will be unconscious (except for Jinx who is hiding) at the alien's feet when the heroes enter.

Encounter 14: The Battle!

If the heroes need help and Jinx is free, she can jump in. If the heroes flee, Jinx will reveal herself and ask for their help in defeating the space monster. If the monster wins, the heroes will wake up to find the creature long gone, loosed upon the world.
