Introduction
Subplots galore as the Island City Heroes take some time off from
saving the world.
Subplots: Ghost Girl
Penelope returns to the Island City Library to return a library book.
At the front of the line is an angry patron arguing about his late fee.
Suddenly, he rails against the librarian and throws a baseball which
explodes a book case. It's the Sportsmaster and he's going to let off
some steam at the library bureaucracy.
Subplots: Rad
Professor Jones develops an anti-radiation serum for the Island City
Heroes. Unfortunately the serum has a few side effects as each hero is
mutated, some more than others.
Professor Jones experiences budget cutbacks. His lab is moved to the
sub-sub-basement and he loses his intern. Funds and resources are going
to the new golden boy in the research center, the alien Je'oos'ra.
Unhappy with the situation, Professor Jones decides to quit and look
for a new job.

Subplots: Riff
Dev2 comes to Dr Riff for advice -- he wants to propose to his 5-month
girlfriend, Mekanique. Charlie is still suspicious of the mysterious
robot and wants to disassemble it for study. What will Riff do?
Dr Riff's matchmaking seems to progress fine as Wally and Charlie are
thrown together in various projects. Eventually they go out on a date,
which ends badly. Afterwards the relationship deteriorates as Wally
just can't let go and starts stalking Charlie.
Main Plot: Devastatron Sends Killer Robots
Devastatron send the Dragon (DCH #257 World at War p123) and 8 Japanese
Combat Robots (DCH #257 World at War p123) to destroy Riff's lab, Dev2,
and humiliate Riff. This is the first part of Dev1's plan to annihilate
his creator.
